Humanity Rises is a refugee humanitarian aid organization focused on the genocide-driven Rohingya crisis in Bangladesh.
The Rehma Fund has helped establish and continues to support The Humanity Rises Rehma Child Life Center (HRRCLC). The learning center is the only one in Cox’s Bazaar’s Rohingya camp offering education-based pediatric mental health services to traumatized Rohingya children with a team of full-time onsite psychologists in the classroom working side-by-side with teachers.
The Humanity Rises clinic and HRRCLC were burnt to the ground when a fire ravaged the refugee camp in March 2021. Thanks to the incredible leadership of the founder, Kel Kelly, both were rebuilt quickly and the HRRCLC welcomed students back within a few months. Demand for the center’s services has been so high that we are hoping to support both an expansion of the facility and an additional shift to accommodate more children.
These children and their families have experienced unimaginable horrors. The learning center provides a safe space where children have access to nutritionally balanced meals, and where they can learn, play and establish trusted relationships.
